Westbury Estate, London, SW8, designed by LCC (London County Council) Architect's Dept. Built 1966, Identified for particle demolition as part of Lambeth council's 'estate regeneration' programme*

 

The iconic Durrington Tower and Amesbury Tower have thankfully been 'retained' however all the low rise blocks are proposed for demolition as part of the Westbury estate 'regeneration' scheme. I feel this should be reconsidered as, on the whole, the estate was planned coherently with an elegant, spacious feel, not to mention the destabilising affects of the uncertainty round the 'redevelopment' that some residents have mentioned; here's a campaign to save the estate and the views of some residents: Save Westbury Estate SW8 on twitter facebook website
